This is a #10 separating zipper by YKK® with a single pull zipper slider. Choose from a locking or non-locking slider; slider types available may vary by chain length. Featuring white teeth and tape with a Delrin® single pull slider, this zipper will blend into your canvas projects.

Molded tooth zippers are made with Delrin plastic teeth molded to the fabric tape edges. (VISLON® is the YKK branded term for a molded tooth zipper style.) This construction makes them strong and practically weatherproof. Designed to resist damage from UV rays and corrosion, YKK VISLON zippers are a great choice for marine environments. Use a #10 molded tooth zipper on sail covers, canvas enclosures, jib luff sleeves, jackets and much more.

Separating zippers can be fully separated like the zipper on a jacket. They include a zipper slider, starter box and top stops. A separating zipper can easily be shortened by cutting the end that is closed last. Install new top stops or sew fabric pieces over the ends of the teeth to keep the slider from coming off the end.

  • Single pull zipper slider in your choice of locking or non-locking. Slider types available may vary by chain length.
  • UV and corrosion resistant; ideal for marine environments.
  • Separating zipper includes slider, starter box and top stops.

Vislon & Coil Zippers - Part 1

Most zippers come in two distinct styles called vislon or coil. This video will discuss the differences of a vislon and coil zipper. Vislon zippers are the most common marine zippers. They are strong and designed to resist UV and corrosive damage. Coil zipper chain is strong and flexible due to a fine toothed design. Great for bags, tents, packs and rounding corner applications, but not as good for UV resistance.

Continuous vs Finished Zippers - Part 2

A finished zipper will separate like a zipper on a jacket while a continuous zipper is meant to be used in applications where at least one end stays closed. This video will demonstrate the differences of a finished zipper vs. a continuous zipper.

Zipper Sliders - Part 3

Zipper sliders come in many configurations from locking to non-locking, metal to plastic, and double pull to single pull. This video will discuss the appropriate slider for your application. Also shown is how to install a zipper slider onto the zipper teeth.

Zipper Shortening & Stops - Part 4

Learn how to shorten the length of a finished zipper and add zipper stops.
