Description
This is a double-sided acrylic adhesive that bonds well with coarse canvas fabrics like Sunbrella®, Top Notch® or Top Gun®. Basting prior to sewing prevents feeding problems and provides more accurate, even hems and water-resistant seams. Basting tapes are left permanently in place and are invisible. If any needle gumming occurs while sewing, intermittently clean the needle with an alcohol swab or an adhesive remover. The "Basting Tape Selection Tips" PDF document below details all the materials this basting tape can be used on.
3/8-inch width is ideal for 1/2-inch hems, the standard hem width, to minimize any exposed tape after hemming.

Are You Using the Right Basting Tape for Your Sewing Projects?
Reviews
Incredibly useful!
I had no idea until I tried it just how helpful this basting tape is! My first major sailing project was hemming our dry winter cover to keep it out of the water during a winter at the dock. It was easy to use and held beyond my expectations as we manipulated the heavy canvas. I’m so glad I watched the winter cover video and learned about the basting tape - it saved hours of effort and frustration!
Can’t do without seamstick
Love seamstick for all my canvas projects!
works as it should
Can’t work without this product!
Works GREAT but it does gum up the needle. Easily cleaned with isopropyl alcohol. Fantastic for the heavy canvas I’m sewing.
A must have…..
It makes sewing so much easier and is easy to work with.
Works well
sticks well to the fabric. A great option since pins don't work with the heavy fabric.
This tape is great, helps my projects stay together before and during the process
The help I needed.
Did what I needed and was definitely the best price I found on the internet.
Sewing is easy with basting tape
Big help for sewing.
helped with holding the fabric in place along with sealing the holes from the needle.
