Description
This is a double-sided mylar film with acrylic adhesive that bonds well on smooth Dacron® sailcloth, nylon and vinyl. It is strong, neat and nearly invisible. Use basting tape instead of pins on projects for more accurate, even hems and water-resistant seams. Basting tapes are left permanently in place and are invisible. If any needle gumming occurs, intermittently clean the needle with an alcohol swab or an adhesive remover.
Pro Tip: This item should not be used for marine canvas fabrics like Sunbrella® and Top Notch®. Instead, use Seamstick 1/2" for Canvas and Upholstery (part #104984) — it is designed to stick to these fabrics much better. We also recommend using the Seamstick for Canvas and Upholstery when installing clear vinyl window material into marine performance fabrics. The "Basting Tape Selection Tips" PDF document below details all the materials this basting tape can be used on.
Note: Always test the adhesive bond strength for your material and application.

Great Tape for Many Uses
It works and is affordable. Much faster and easier than pinning or basting.

5. Star
I love this product and use it all the time on various projects on my shop. Makes the job go so much quicker. It allows me to make adjustments with out putting and then pulling a lot on pins. It has really good strength.
I love this basting tape. I made blackout window coverings for my neice's van. Working with ripstop nylon is so much easier with this tape!
